Children The embodiment of potentialities; possibilities of the future; simplicity; innocence. The child, or son, also symbolizes a higher transformation of the individuality, the self transmuted and reborn into perfection. Children are embryonic in the Great Mother, controller of the Great Waters, hence, in legend, children are brought by fishers such as the stork, or water-dwellers as the frog, or are born of Mother Earth, under a bush or in a cave.
