Threshold
The threshold signifies the passage from one level to an other, usually from a lower, earthly plane to a higher, spiritual one. It is the entrance to a new world, the boundary at which the natural meets the supernatural. The term is often used to figuratively mark a moment of transition, perhaps the entrance to adulthood.
