Weapons Ambiguous symbols of power or the will- aggressive or defensive, oppressive or liberating. In the ancient world, where life was uncertain, few weapons were wholly destructive in their symbolism - apart, perhaps from the club. Many are linked with truth, aspiration or other virtues, and in myths and legends magical ones are given to heroes. Weapons often became ceremonial emblems of authority or justice.
