Word
In mystic tradition, a symbol of divine creative power. The Hindu notion that the vibration of a sacred primordial sound brought the manifest world into being appears in many traditions. In the book of Genesis, God speaks to create light. The Gospel of St. John opens: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
